Structure Is Everything!
The boring technical truth about account structure is this; your PPC campaign is essentially a giant database. A typical BIGLocal.ca client account database is approx. 350,000 rows deep & 45 columns wide (that’s a total of about 16-Million Cells of Data).
If your database isn’t structured extremely tightly (meaning, designed so that specific keywords prompt specific ads without errors), your PPC campaign will waste a ton of money, and you’ll really have no way to tell why through the data in the Adwords reports.
Account Structure essentially refers to the correct allocation of Positive Keywords, Negative Keywords, Ads, Ad Groups, Campaigns & Settings. This is a very complicated procedure that has many nuances that amateur advertisers reliably-fail to pick up on.
